MENA & GCC SaaS going global

Go-to-market for MENA & GCC SaaS expanding into Europe and the US

I work with SaaS founders from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and the wider Gulf who want to sell in Europe or the US. I've built and scaled SaaS sales organisations in all three regions, so I can help choose the market and build the sales process with your team.

The problem

Why expansion stalls

01

Your positioning may not travel

A buyer in Europe or the US may not know the relationships or references that carry weight at home. I'd start by listening to how local buyers describe the problem, then adjust the story you tell them.

02

The buying process may be different

In the Gulf, a founder may win a deal through a relationship. A buyer in Europe or the US may research independently before talking to sales. I'd map the steps they actually take and build the sales process around them.

03

Your first local hire matters

Before hiring a rep in a new market, I'd want to know what they're expected to sell and how they'll find buyers. That gives us a better basis for choosing the role and supporting the person in it.

04

Pricing needs a local check

Buyers in different markets may compare packages and contract terms differently. I'd review how they purchase before carrying the same offer into Europe or the US.

05

Your reporting has to cross borders

If the CRM uses different stages and definitions in each market, it's hard to see the full pipeline. I'd align those basics so you can review opportunities and forecasts across regions.

The decision

Why I usually recommend the US first

For most MENA and GCC SaaS companies, I'd start with the US. It's one large market with one language, buyers who tend to move faster, and less GDPR friction in the sales cycle than Europe.

Europe can make sense first if your demand is already coming from one European country or your deals depend on in-person relationships. In those cases, I'd follow the evidence rather than force a US plan.

The key is to choose one market, make sure the sales process fits how its buyers purchase, and give the team enough focus to learn what works.

The approach

How I'd work with your team

You work with me directly. I help shape the strategy and then build it with your team, so nothing gets lost between the plan and the pipeline.

Depending on what the market needs, we can work on these parts of go-to-market.
